Chill out Sunday.

Today was a day of jobs in the house. Washing the car, hanging out wet clothes, cutting the grass, ironing school shirts for the week ahead, sausage lunch on the BBQ, cleaning the guinea pig hutch, sweeping floors.

By the time the house stuff was out of the way the day had slipped away and the sun was getting low in the sky. It was too late to go anywhere.

The kids suggested bringing the Frisbee to the reserve, an area of grass and trees next to the lake across the road from our house.

The hour that we spent there climbing trees, throwing the Frisbee, "fishing" with a stick and a plastic bottle cap was the perfect end to a busy day.

Just the five of us having fun.

Hopefully a hint of what the summer has in store...

  1. Summer is going to be HOT baby and im talking temp wise. Its only Sept, can you imagine how hot February is going to be...good lord.

PS - we both replied to cjane's comments at the same time, how funny!

  2. Beautiful smiles....beautiful children.

Even though we are so far away from each other and I know your seasons are different, it is still so odd to hear you talk about summer when we are heading into fall. I noticed your comments mentioned how hot it will be in February...we will be cold and shivering then!! :)

  3. I'm still trying to get used to topsy turvey seasons myself. Growing up in Ireland February was freezing, foggy and wet. It just seems wrong to need sunscreen in January and umbrellas in July!

  4. Gina, I am jealous! Its a cold and dreary day in Ireland today.
    Your kids are just gorgeous.
