It's Florence Nightingales birthday today so all around the world people are being nice to their nurses! Or so it is meant to be. I was only verbally abused by one patient today so I guess it hasn't been such a bad day. I won't tell you what his response was when I told him it was time for his enema... or where he told me I could stick it!Apart from that little incident I got given my favourite Cadbury's chocolate from a box of Roses, the Turkish delight one! Yum. Mind you, I had to kiss an old man in mismatched pyjamas in gratitude for that one, makes you think sometimes it would be easier to just go to the vending machine downstairs!
All in all a good shift. This time last year I wouldn't have believed you if you told me I would soon be back nursing. Amazing how things change without much warning.
