Spot the kids...

We are walking a lot more since I started the 12 week challenge.
Today we walked from Merewether baths to Nobby's lighthouse and back. Just over an hour.
You can see Rhiannon clearly scooting along in her red jacket but if you look closely you can just make out Gareth and Sian through the hole in the sculpture...!

  1. Did you change your diet too? That's the hard part for me. I am ALWAYS hungry!

Lovely photograph by the way. I just love it.

  2. Gina... great shot!! I love how the clouds look like you could just reach out and touch them!! Keep up the great job at walking!

  3. Tell me more about this 12wk challenge. I just finished mine. I didnt win (a prize) but i won by getting fitter! Are you going to a gym?

  4. The idea of the 12 week challenge is that you do whatever you want to lose weight/improve your fitness.

I'm not going to a gym. I'm walking in Warners Bay while the kids are at rugby training. I'm using a cross trainer that has sat in the garage gathering dust for too long. I've borrowed workout DVDs from the library. I'm going on big family walks each weekend where the kids have their scooters so they don't tire out!

I'm eating more sensibly and changing the proprtions of the food on my my plate. Tons more veggies and salad and reduced carbs. I'm trying to have the kids see me eat the same as the rest of the family. I don't want them to see me be diet obsessed.

I also made a couple of batches of weight watchers zero
points soup which I eat for lunch. They are made with tons of veggies and taste quite good. A really clever idea is to have a bowl of it as a tummy filler before going out to eat so you don't eat too much of what you've been trying to avoid all week. I had some before a babyshower last weekend and didn't stuff myself when I got there.

It will be interesting to see how it works out...!
